Growing & Growing

We took Ana to her doctor appt. She continues to do great and now weighs 7 pounds 1 ounce!!!! Kaylee also continues to grow fonder and fonder of her new baby sister. She loves to give her "good morning" and "good night" kisses. Anytime someone asks if she loves her sister she says "yah". And is mommy helper anytime it's time to change Ana, running to get the diaper and wipes, then throwing the dirty one away.

Morning Playtime

Ana has been alot more alert and spening more time checking out the world. This video was taken a few days ago when everyone woke up. Kaylee was really anxious to film it herself so you will notice the camera shaking a couple times! haha

Ana's Big Sister

Yesterday, it was time for Ana to eat, and Kaylee ran up to her and gave her a big kiss. Well, Ana immediately tried to suck on Kay's cheek. Kaylee thought this was the funniest thing and now we can't seperate them. As soon as Kay wakes up she runs to Ana and says "Hi,baby"!

Tummy Time and Doctor Appt.

We took Ana to her weekly doctor appt. And she now weighs 6 pounds 3 ounces. When she left the hospital on November 20th she weighed 5 pounds 5 ounces so her doctor was really pleased with how great she is doing! She also is starting to lift her head on her own and is much more alert and spends hours wide awake.

I put her down to do her first Tummy Time last night. As soon as I put her down she closed her eyes and was fast asleep! It was really cute seeing this tiny little body on this big mat!

Last night I fell asleep thinking she was finally sound asleep next to me (since we brought her home she has been sleeping right next to me). I woke up to a tickle on my face and it was her tiny and on my cheek. I opened my eyes and she was right there with her big blue eyes just watching me.

After The First Weekend

We weren't sure how Kaylee would do with a new baby..she has been quite the helper though! I will hold Ana on Kaylee's lap, Kay runs and gets a diaper and throws the dirty one away. Today, Ana was ready to eat and Kay leaned down to give her a kiss and Ana tried to suck on Kay's cheek. Kaylee loved this and now she keeps running up to Ana to give her more kisses.

Introducing The Newest Funk

I went in for an ultrasound on November 12th and they noticed that my fluid surrounding Ana was very low. After doing a stress test they told me they were going to run the results by the doctor but that most likely I'd be put on bedrest for a week. Suddenly the doctor came in and told me they had scheduled a C-section for the following morning. Shocked, I went out and told Brian, and we immediately went into a panic on what all we needed to do and to get before the next morning!
The next morning my parent's came and we put all my stuff and Kaylee's stuff in the truck. She would be spending the day and first night with them. At 12:43pm, Ana Marie Funk was born, at 5 pounds 10 ounces and 19 inches long. We noticed right away that her breathing was very erratic and she was really struggling so they took her right to the NICU. Needless to say, the following few days I was in the hospital was really tough. I was able to get up and go see her anytime I wanted after the first day and the nurses and doctors were all amazing! At first, they told me they thought we were looking at 3-4 months of her being there. But she is strong and after a week I went into do her feeding and he physical therapy and they asked me if I was ready to take her home!
When I pulled up to the apartment with Ana, I saw my parent's, Brian, and Kay waiting outside. Kaylee was so excited and kept yelling "look baby"!! Finally, my girls were home with me!
